Excited
I have transitioned to writing fiction full-time and already the journey is what I’ve always wanted. While I am somewhat content with what I have to show for my efforts, I am nowhere near achieving my goals. I have a manuscript of a novel and a play for the theatre; and I'm working on a second novel.
Within their sub-plots, each of my stories digs into the past and speculates on “alternative facts” that have slipped by the discerning eye of the intelligentsia.
My first story conjures up a conspiracy between Church and State in Portugal that hoodwinked the masses 100 years ago and continues to do so, with impunity.
My play reminds us that Canada didn’t need NAFTA in 1990 to be innovative and prosperous.
My second story, which I am working on now, goes against the grain of history, debunking propaganda that was publicized by the victors of a terrible war when they wiped out an entire nation in South America.
These themes shed light on what I regard as hidden pearls. Maybe some are true. To me, they are bad secrets and they have motivated me to bring them into the light of day. I don’t just want to be involved in creating books and bringing stories to life, I need to.
